On a beautiful morning, I had the pleasure to converse and be a part of a great panel that involved the Hon’ble Minister of Primary Industries, Malaysia – TERESA KOK SUH SIM. Dr. Bhavna Shah – Country Representative India and Srilanka for MPOC and many other respectable personalities, at the Taj Lands End Mumbai.
The experienced and the knowledgeable were here to talk about Palm Oil.
The goodness of Palms, and how useful it can be in our day to day lives.
As we know Malaysia exports a large amount of palm oil. And now they encourage us to understand the details of the oil. They all spoke about the Malaysian Palm Oil, and the benefits of its usage.
The palm oil is cholesterol free which is the highlight for me because my family suffers with it. I understand the importance of a balanced diet and support it.
The minster Teresa told us how she drinks a teaspoon of palm oil in Luke warm water.
I could relate with it since I also drink fat first in the mornings. The palm oil is also good for eyesight.
~Red palm oil (RPO) is the only commercially-available vegetable oil that contains substantial amounts of carotenoids (about 550 μg/g) and Vitamin E (600 μg/g) comprising tocotrienols (65%) and alpha-tocopherols (35%).
Some of the carotenoids in RPO are converted to vitamin A in our body; the rest of the carotenoids, together with vitamin E (particularly tocotrienols), are reported to play a vital role in advanced nutrition – boosting the immune system, scavenging damaging reactive oxygen species in our body, and are involved in complex mechanisms, which have evolved to protect the body from chronic diseases such as heart disease and cancers of the breast and skin. ~ Information from there website.
